MASTER CLASS
ADVANCED SPACE WORK
WITH MICHAEL BURNS
JULY 25TH / $35
This Master Class with Mopco’s founder and artistic director will focus on the creation of a full spatial experience for the improvisor and audience. Improv is usually performed without a set, so it’s up to the performer to help the audience see the where and experience the reality of the objects, weather, and atmosphere. This class will help you work with your whole body and the whole performance space to discover and create a rich, detailed stage environment with your partner.
To register, email classes@mopco.org. Please put the words Spacework Master Class in your heading.
Michael Burns
studied theatre at SUNY Purchase,
where he was introduced to mime
and improv. He then worked
extensively with David Shepherd,
(founder of the original Compass
Theatre in Chicago) at Shepherd’s
Group Creativity Project as an
actor, teacher and game designer.
In addition to teaching for MopCo, he has been an instructor for the American Folk Theatre, Very Special Arts, and numerous Capital District arts organizations.
